Like our initial consultation, sessions are via Zoom.
During a typical session, we chat about your week and all of the good things that have been happening.
We talk about how the brain works and how it relates to your experiences. And after this, we get to the good stuff.
It’s your time to relax, bliss out, and enjoy a little YOU time.
Hypnosis feels like a lovely daydream; you’re giving your conscious mind a break (it deserves it) and your subconscious mind can now go to work focusing on, absorbing, processing, and encoding fresh ways of thinking and feeling.
Sometimes people think they can’t be hypnotised, but that’s really just a bit of a misunderstanding as to what hypnosis is and what it isn’t.
The hypnotic state is totally normal and we go in and out of it, all day every day.
It happens when you watch a movie, read a book, play a video game, or drive a car. It’s the same state you wake up in (who turned the alarm off – spoiler alert, you did!) or right before falling asleep.
Daydreaming is hypnotic trance.
Trance and hypnosis, in a nutshell, are when you aren’t entirely conscious, but you aren’t entirely unconscious either.
Think about a time where you were driving for hours, or driving home from work, you just sort of spaced out. You weren’t unconscious exactly, but you totally zoned out; your subconscious mind ran the show and drove the car.
When you are in a hypnotic state, your mind quiets, your focus narrows, your breathing slows, and you feel incredibly calm. It works, and it works fast because it counters the effect of the stress response with the relaxation response, and you can just chill out.
The relaxed dreamy hypnotic state feels fabulous.
When used therapeutically, hypnotherapy does more than just make you feel good; when you are in a hypnotic state, you are far more suggestible than when you are fully awake.
And we will use this to our advantage: hypnosis is really a mind hack where we can bypass the conscious mind entirely so that we speak directly to the subconscious. It’s important that we have a conversation with the subconscious, because the quality of your thoughts determines your state of mind, and your state of mind determines your physical and mental well-being.
So, if you want to make changes and feel more relaxed, positive, and confident, we’ve got to start feeding the subconscious with positive sensory input.
This is the magic of hypnosis.
We get what we expect and what we expect is based on our mindset
Our mindset is determined by our thoughts.
Once we begin to rewire how we think about things through conscious positive thoughts, and unconscious positive beliefs, we can begin making small achievable changes, and as the firing and the wiring of our brain changes, we become more peaceful, relaxed, and resilient.
Our brains do not know the difference between imagination and reality
Every single stressful thought we have triggers anxiety in the mind and becomes tension stored in our bodies.
Over time, this tension manifests itself into physical illness, restlessness, irritability, fatigue, worry, problems concentrating, headaches, muscle tension, and trouble sleeping. In addition, many compulsive habits and addictions are also responses to stress.
Retrain your brain
Hypnosis trains the brain to focus on vibrant positive thoughts, so you can feed your mind with good stuff, instead of focusing on the bad stuff.
So, let’s say we want to get healthy. What comes to mind? Eat more vegetables? Go to the gym more? Sure, doing those things will help. But what about our minds?
Negative thoughts are sort of the junk food of our minds. You wouldn’t eat cake all day and expect to feel healthy, it’s like that with negative thinking too.
Through hypnosis, you can train your mind to be stronger, more flexible, more agile, more balanced, and more powerful.
To flourish in life, we must cultivate our minds daily and see it as a daily practice, as we would treat our bodies by going to the gym.
Using the power of hypnosis and the subconscious, we can rewire our minds to think in positive ways and engage in small positive lifestyle changes, a little bit at a time to make big lasting changes in our lives.
In many ways, hypnosis is very much like a guided meditation; the idea is to set aside normal judgments and sensory reactions, to enter a deeper state of concentration and receptiveness.
But although it is quite similar, it’s also a bit different.
Meditation can take weeks, months, or even years of practice, with hypnosis, relief can be quicker and more dramatic.
Do you want to feel healthier?
For the most part, when we think about health, we tend to think about diet and exercise. But who does the shopping, prepares the food, and takes you to the gym? Who’s making the choices?
It’s you in a way, but mostly it’s your subconscious who’s running the programs, thinking the thoughts, and driving your behaviours. That’s great for maintaining the status quo, but not so cool when you consciously want things to be different.
The problem is, your subconscious may be acting against your best interests because it isn’t wired for thriving, it’s wired for survival.
If you are stressed out and having a bad day, your subconscious won’t direct you to make a salad for dinner, it will direct you to your buddies Ben & Jerry.
And because it’s always in survival mode, it will always skew negative and think negative thoughts, and negative thoughts are the junk food of your mind.
Hypnosis can train your mind to be relaxed, stronger, more positive, more flexible, more agile, more balanced, and more powerful.
If we want to live our best lives, we must cultivate our minds daily and see it as a daily practice, as we would treat our bodies by going to the gym; we can harness the power of our subconscious by the magic of hypnosis. We can rewire our minds to think positive so that we can be positive. We can feel good and make little baby steps, a little bit at a time to make big, huge, and lasting changes in our lives.
Let’s have a quick chat and then we can get you scheduled for an initial consultation.
After our initial consultation, you can book online sessions and packages, and from there you can start achieving your goals.
