Hi! I’m Judi, I’m a clinical hypnotherapist, and it is my mission to make hypnosis accessible, affordable, and available to everyone, so more people can experience the benefits of hypnosis anytime, anywhere, and for any goal.

In recent years, meditation and mindfulness have achieved a mainstream acceptance for stress reduction but hypnosis and hypnotherapy are still shrouded in a bit of stage show chicken clucking mystique and misunderstanding. I want to change that.

Hypnosis and meditation are quite similar in terms of the relaxed brain waves (alpha and theta) that we go into, however, I have found that hypnosis is a much more powerful tool for stress relief and change. Where meditation does require concentration, focus, and sometimes years of practice, hypnosis can get you to a relaxed state fast and make lasting positive changes to your subconscious.

I’ve got one goal, and that is to make hypnosis accessible and affordable for anyone who wants it.

I offer solution-focused hypnotherapy for a range of issues; however, hypnotherapy might not be an option for you, and depending on your needs, self-hypnosis or a self-hypnosis program might be a better fit. I want to create a space with options that everyone can have access to hypnosis so that they can reclaim their health and find their happy place.

There are 3 levels to choose from – HypnoTracks (self-hypnosis downloads), HypnoKIts (self-hypnosis downloads combined with an at-home 28-day program to make lasting and positive changes), and Online Hypnotherapy (available on Zoom).

I’m a Southern Belle and a Kentucky Colonel (kind of like the guy on the KFC sign, but without the goatee and super cool bow tie) living in Altrincham (Manchester), UK and I’m so glad you are here.

I’m a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist with a passion for relaxin’, making corny jokes, and helping people feel better.

As unfair as it is, I’ve not got any real chicken cred and I can’t get you a free 14 piece party bucket, but I can show you how to get your subconscious to work for you, rather than against you. Maybe quite not as delicious, but a bit healthier.

How can hypnotherapy and hypnosis help?

Any issues that are stress related in our lives (and most of our issues are) can be helped with hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

I offer Solution-Focused hypnotherapy sessions and hypnosis for relaxation that’s available in-person in the Manchester and Altrincham area or online, no matter where in the world you are. This is the big one. Without a doubt, stress and anxiety are two of the most common reasons that people seek out hypnotherapy and is at the root of so many other problems. The magic of hypnotherapy is that it helps you to create a brand-new perspective, while at the same time it enables you to find confidence in yourself.

Stop smoking

Another huge reason that people seek out hypnosis and hypnotherapy is to stop smoking. I can tell you as a former and quite dedicated 2 pack a day smoker (for over 20 years!) the very decision to stop smoking is no small achievement.

The smoking connection is deeply engrained in our brain and our emotions. Once you’ve made up your mind to stop, and for me at least, this was the hardest part, hypnotherapy is a great solution as it targets the root of the problem, the subconscious.

You might find that you’ve struggled in the past losing weight. Or you might have recently picked up some excess baggage that you would like to get rid of. Maybe you would like to fit back into your clothes. As someone who has lost about 90 pounds (that’s 6.4 stone) and kept it off for the last 10 years, I understand.

Will I still be in control?
Yes, you are still fully in control of yourself when you are hypnotised. It’s sort of like a daydream. You are still conscious, but extremely relaxed. No one can take control of you and make you do silly things while you’re hypnotised unless of course, you want to.
Is Hypnosis mind control?
Nope. Despite how it is portrayed sometimes, hypnosis can’t make you the slave of the person hypnotising you. You are in control throughout the session and you are not under a “spell” or under the power of someone else. You will never do anything while you are hypnotised that you wouldn’t do in normal life. And trust me, I do not want any of my clients clucking like chickens!
What happens if I can’t come out of hypnosis?
It’s impossible for that to happen, because you won’t be unconscious. You will just be deeply relaxed, and you can come out of that state at any time that you wish. Sometimes at the end of a session it takes a few minutes to return to your normal awareness but that is only because it feels so good to be relaxed, sort of like not wanting to get up after a massage. You are always in control.
Can I hypnotise myself?
Sure you can! And it can even be said that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis; as you are in control of what you are doing. If you are doing the Relax Baby Hypnobirthing® program or using your HypnoKit and your Hypnotic Stress Reduction techniques, this is exactly what you will be doing. Some people prefer self-hypnosis because they can relax easier on their own, on their schedule, in an environment that is comfortable to them. That said, remember, when you are using self-hypnosis you aren’t getting the expertise and therapeutic help that you would be getting from a trained therapist. If you are using hypnosis to help you deal with anxiety, depression, or psychological issues then you should probably see a professional therapist instead of relying on self- hypnosis.
Is hypnosis real?
Even though hypnosis is becoming more mainstream and well known as a therapeutic modality, lots of people still feel a bit sceptical. But relax, baby (sorry, I couldn’t resist) it’s a legitimate therapeutic technique that has been used with proven success to treat medical and psychological disorders in millions of people. Hypnosis has been around a long time, it isn’t new or untested.
How many sessions do I need?
The brain needs repetition to change. But every brain is different. For lasting positive changes, I would recommend 6-8 sessions as a rule of thumb. Sometimes more and sometimes less. The truth is most people will feel better after just one session, but it does take repetition for the changes to stick. Remember, you are learning new skills!
What if I fall asleep?
Even when you sleep a part of your brain is always alert. You are always listening. The brain was designed to stay alert to protect us and our offspring. For example, if someone breaks into your home while you are sleeping at night, you will wake up as soon as you hear a noise. Or think of a new mother with a infant, she wakes up just as soon as she hears the baby crying. Our brains are wired for hearing even when we sleep, taking in information and recording it. In hypnosis, we use this, so even if you fall asleep during your session, your brain is still recording all of the information in your subconscious mind.
Can I use hypnosis instead of seeing a doctor?
No way, Jose. You should always seek the advice of a medical doctor before making a major change in your life.
Will I remember what you’ve said?
Possibly a little. But remember, hypnosis is designed to make your conscious mind forget the suggestions so that it doesn’t interfere with your subconscious.
What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Everyone enters a hypnotic state (Alpha) every day, several times per day. In alpha, your mind is slowed down a little bit, your focus narrows, your breathing slows, and you are relaxed.

This happens when you watch TV, read a book, play video games, and drive a car. It’s the same state you are in when you just wake up or right before falling asleep. You aren’t entirely conscious, but you aren’t entirely unconscious either.

When you are in this state, you’re much more suggestible than when you are fully awake (Beta). Sometimes people think they can’t be hypnotised, but that’s really just a bit of a misunderstanding as to what hypnosis is and what it is not.

Hypnosis is just a natural state which everyone moves in and out of throughout each day. It’s just like the state you are in when you’ve been driving a car for a long-distance, do you know that feeling? It isn’t that you are unconscious, but you do tune out. Your focus is concentrated on driving.

Neurotransmitters are our body’s chemical messengers. They are the molecules that our nervous system uses to send messages to our other parts. We have billions of them & they are always at work keeping our brains running, managing our breathing, heartbeat, learning and concentration levels. They also affect perceptions such as fear, mood, pleasure, & joy.

✨ Let's have a closer look at Adrenaline.

Adrenaline is a hormone, also called epinephrine, & it is crucial part of the body's fight-or-flight response. It is important for survival, but in our fast paced stressed out modern world, our bodies release it when we are under stress (traffic!) but not facing real danger (bear!). Excessively high levels of it due to stress without real danger can cause heart damage, insomnia, and a jittery, nervous feeling.

It can inhibit our immune system. This makes sense because if all of our body's resources are focused on an escape, or survival, our bodies will put protection & repair on hold until the danger has gone. In small doses, it's fine, however, too much stress can shut down of the body’s non-essential systems & lead to problems and serious illness.

To control adrenaline, we want to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, sometimes called the rest-and-digest system, & it is the opposite of the fight/flight/freeze response. It allows your body to rest and repair itself.

To activate your parasympathetic nervous system, try, deep slow breaths, meditation or hypnosis, yoga or tai chi exercises, eating healthy, exercise, & cutting back on caffeine and alcohol.

Using hypnosis and hypnotherapy for stress reduction, your unconscious mind can be re-programmed and conditioned, and you can use these relaxation techniques to make massive changes in the way that you respond to stressful situations and control the release of stress hormones .
